Here are sample responses to the study questions that follow the paragraph developed with examples--"Confessions of a Slob"--on page one.
- The place transitions in this paragraph include the following: "Starting in my bedroom," "on top," "There," "alongside," 'behind," "Next to," "To the left," "To the right," and "beside it."
- This is the transition sentence: "A trail of shoes and sneakers leads you out of the bedroom and into the bathroom."
- Various answers are possible. Here's the concluding sentence that appeared in the student's original paragraph: "Now, if all this doesn't convince you that I'm a hopeless slob, maybe you'd like to move in with me: I need a new roommate!"
